Fallen Warriors

Marine Corps League Detachment 1298 honors the men and women — the United States Marines — who have given their lives in the service of their country.

This page is a tribute to the fallen Marines of North Carolina, and it reflects the dedication, fierce loyalty and commitment to duty and honor of brother and sister Marines from every state in the Union — the fallen warriors who carried the Battle Colors of the Corps against the foe on far-flung shores and distant beaches.

Their sacrifice is proof of the Corps motto:
Semper Fidelis — and it is the duty of those for whom they died to remain, in our turn, to their memory — Always Faithful.

Here’s health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve;
In many a strife we’ve fought for life
And never lost our nerve;
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven’s scenes;
They will find the streets are guarded
By United States Marines.
